Lately I've been trying to pass along some of the things I have learned as an artist to my younger cousin. It's been a struggle. Things just don't seem to sink in or make an impact. I guess younger kids just don't want to hear that it takes hard work and dedication.
So I found this site that tries to teach these things in an easy to read comic format, which I think would actually resonate more with a younger audience. It's inspiring, it's easy to read (bite-size), and it's entertaining.
I'm mentioning this because I'm sure others face this from time to time. Just wanting to set an artist on a course of improvement. To try to instill in them knowledge and understanding you wish you had when you were starting out. Instead of wasting your time telling them or typing up long emails that will probably go in one ear and out the other, you can just tell them to go through the table of contents of Doodle Alley.
